BiH takes over chairmanship of the Council of Europe



Bosnia and Herzegovina will today at the meeting of foreign ministers of the six-month presidency of Belgium to take the Council of Europe.
The handover will take place in Brussels at the 125th session of the Council of Europe, which will bring together foreign ministers of the 47 member states of this international organization, transferred Fena.
Sanctions BiH
Igor Crnadak, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, will present the priorities of his country during the next six-month presidency.
At the same time, the outgoing chairman Didier Reynders will present all persons who participated in the Belgian presidency.

Ivica Dacic, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, which currently holds the OSCE, said that now the two countries in the region Chairman important organizations which opens up many possibilities for further cooperation.

Otherwise, in the shadow of this important event BiH threatened sanctions Committee of the Council of Europe for the evaluation of measures against money laundering and terrorist financing because of ambiguities in the amendment to the Criminal Code, relating to the fight against terrorist financing and money laundering (Moneyval).

BiH could be brought to the situation to become chairman of the Council of Europe, one of whose committee threatens to put the infamous list of non-cooperative countries in the world.

BiH House of Peoples still yesterday by the urgent procedure adopted the Draft Law on Amendments to the Criminal Code after it last week and did the House of Representatives, which should eventually meet Moneyval.

Credible partner

Crnadak recently after a meeting with Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjorn Jagland said that everything is ready to start with the BiH presidency of the Council of Europe.

"I am extremely pleased that we have to say that the preparations for the BiH Presidency of the Council of Europe were good and successful, but we've heard from our partners and Mr. Jagland," said Crnadak and added that many believe that this is the most important international event in Bosnia and Herzegovina since the war.

He underlined that the Presidency of the Council of Europe to give a chance to show BiH as a credible partner and to help her on the road to European integration.
