Denis Becirovic: Stop the denial of Bosnian language
MP in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Becirovic sent an open letter to the members of the BiH Presidency and the Council of Ministers on the occasion, he pointed out, denial of the Bosnian language, Anadolu Agency (AA).
According to him, the public expects the weeks move officials when it comes to the "denial of the Bosnian language" in the country. As he pointed out, the obligation of public authorities is the application and observance of human rights.
"I think it is the responsibility of BiH institutions to insist on achieving the highest level of protection of internationally recognized human rights and fundamental freedoms, including the right of particular importance to education and mother tongue. Also, for us in BiH it is a constitutional obligation because Article II of the Constitution stipulates that the rights and freedoms provided by the European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms directly applied in the legal system of BiH, and they are given priority over other domestic positive law regulations, "according to, among other things, in an open letter to MPs in the House of Representatives of the PA.
Becirovic added that the competent expects "loudly point out that the Bosnian language in BiH have always used".
"He is, in fact, used and cited with our and foreign scholars, as a Bosnian, a completely equal footing and normal, such as the Czech, Russian, Polish, Bulgarian, Croatian and Serbian. There have been many attempts to destroy and wipe out the name of the language we speak. However, the deniers of the Bosnian language and the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina have failed and suffered a historic defeat, "said Becirovic.
According to him, the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU) is denying the Bosnian language committed "ideological and political diversion".
"I expect BiH. Officials and international representatives that strongly, clearly and unequivocally say they do not allow any Serbian politicians, linguists and philologists to judge how we're going to call our language. Sovereign right of every nation to their language called its historic name, which is understandable, and it closely and that for him there is a factual historical authenticity, "said Becirovic.
"The denial of language is equally a denial of his people and the overall spiritual and cultural heritage formed in their native language. The denial of the Bosnian language is a denial of the right to life of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the right to national dignity, the right to a peaceful future.
For BiH citizens who speak Bosnian not acceptable to any of the elected representatives at any level and in any institution compromise regarding the name Bosnian language and attempts to replace it unconstitutional some terms that were invented in Belgrade, "said Becirovic.
Becirovic is recalled that in the Bosnian entity of Republika Serbian new school year has not started for a large number of Bosniak children because of the impossibility of teaching in the mother tongue. In this regard, requested the support of such children.
"It is your duty and responsibility to provide clear and unambiguous support to children, parents and staff who performed alternative classes for these disenfranchised students in the heart of Europe.
It is your duty to draw the attention of the High Representative and all the international factors that precisely this kind of behavior of government in BiH.
