Evacuation / Germany: More than 54,000 people will have to leave on Christmas Day two homes
After discovering a huge unexploded bomb from World War II, 54,000 people will be evacuated from their homes in the Bavarian Augsburg on Christmas.
This is the largest evacuation in Germany since the end of World War II. In fact, during the construction work was found 1.8 tons of heavy British bomb. Therefore, the 800 police officers supervise the evacuation of 54,000 people from their homes.Augsburg Authorities say the evacuations had to be held on Christmas Day because of less traffic and people in the workplace.
A similar evacuation took place in Koblenz 2011, when 45,000 people were evacuated. Last year in Cologne evacuated 20,000 of them. Both times it was a question of a found unexploded bombs.
