MALAYSIA MEDIA: Going to the gym is one of the signs that you are gay

The Malaysian newspaper has released a checklist of points for gay people

This includes things like going to a gym or playing a beard as signs of male homosexuality.

A useful list of tips on how to recognize members of the LGBT community was published in the well-known Malaysian daily> Sinar Harian, along with the part of an interview with Islamic cleric Hanaf Malik who complains about the rise in homosexuality in the Southeast Asian countries, which many Muslims view as sinful.

"They like to go to the gym, but not to practice, but to talk to others," one of the points in the list read, adding that homosexuals have a tendency to bearded and marked clothing, and that their eyes shine when they see a nice piece of beef.Baking, holding hands, being alone and thinking about men, is a sure way to identify a lesbian, according to a guide.

Homosexuality is still illegal in Muslim majority Malaysia due to the British Colonial Age law and you can be punished for up to 20 years in prison.

LGBT people, along with Liberal and Shiite Muslims, are regarded as threats by Malian Sunni conservatives such as cleric Hanafiah Malik, who told reporters that there was an urgent need to halt the "rise" of homosexuality.

The preacher also said that "khunsa" or hermaphrodites should allow surgery to remove one of their genitals.

Cleric clerk Sinar Harian however was not welcome in the rest of the population. Arwind Kumar, one of the biggest Malaysian social media stars, has sparked an article on YouTube.

"I know many priests, I know a lot of [Islamic scholars], I know a lot of really, really religious people who like to play beards. Are you trying to say they're gay? So stupid this whole article sounds, "he said.

"If you really want to educate society, explain to them the characteristics of pedophiles, mortals, murderers, kidnappers, people who endanger the lives of others. How the hell does a gay person endanger your life? "
