Gracanica sepium , Tesanj , and other smaller cities in this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina are free to call the entrepreneurial centers in which they operate mainly family-run business .

Industrial zones , a number of shopping centers , small and medium enterprises , a small number of the unemployed are the features of these small towns inhabited by several thousand inhabitants .

A positive example of entrepreneurship is certainly Gracanica .

A city that has never had a large socialist combinats developed in Yugoslavia , just like after the last war , thanks to the initiative of the local population ENTERPRISES .

Local journalist Mirsad Čamdžić told the Anadolu Agency ( AA ) to the Gracanica in the former Yugoslavia was under a specific agenda environment that is not supposed to develop , but the tacit consent of the communist government quickly mobilized people in Gracanica who started very early with a private business.
As he says , because of Gracanica today has a slogan : " The job marketplace" .

" In the former Yugoslavia Gracanica was the third city in the number of registered cars in relation to population , as well as by a large number of plastičarskih actions ," he said Čamdžić .

In fact , after the war Gracanica continued at this pace .

" We can say that in this city government political and social harmony in development ," he explained Čamdžić , adding that this city has a lack of social life, which is why young people are going to study in some major cities , and remain there .

So says Čamdžić , Gracanica less a challenge for young people .

" Gracanica remains a city of business and whoever passes through an industrial zone in Gracanica see that this is a small Bosnian Milan ," he explained.

Had Gracanica by tradition known place of business was confirmed by the municipal mayor Nusret Helic .

" And in the time of communism business in Gracanica is considered normal ," he explained , adding that the chopper in this city mostly of family firms , small business and small and medium enterprises without giants .

In the area of the municipality now has about 1,200 their businesses , more than 500 economic entities , it is the small and medium enterprises , as well as more than 600-700 independent craft shops .

" We are the hosts and all the meetings of businessmen as those from domestic and foreign environment ," said municipal mayor , adding that during the recession , the municipality in which the company has a growing number of employees .

" When it comes to the number of employees , we are close to the pre-war number , which means about 9,500 were employed, and when you look at the number of unemployed at the employment office , then a little scared ," he explained chopper .

According to him, about 8,000 people in the municipality are registered as unemployed, although this is not the actual result of the unemployed , because they are the people who are somewhere in the business , working illegally , and there have been reported .

" Gracanica is the environment in which the business is the number one city in which the local government is facing business ," explained chopper .

He was speaking of last year , said that most of the undertakings operated successfully , and increased the number of employees compared to the previous period .

Helic also said that having a large number of highly educated unemployed , but also that in the last four years volunteering to provide that person .

Annually about 100 people do volunteer work and so they are trying to provide easier access to jobs .

One of the Gračanica company , which this year marks its 50th Jubilee is a company for wood processing , production and trade " Jadrina " in which workers are majority owners .

The director of the company Ramiz Grapkić said the AA to the company through the previous period was one handicraft workshop , and later became članicaŠipada .

" This company works in Gracanica 270 workers and privatized it in 2001. Year . The original variant workers were 100 percent owners . Whether it is about 500 , and is currently about 100 owners of the company ," explained Grapkić .

" Jadrina " is mainly engaged in the production of furniture intended for foreign markets . The company sells 90 percent of products abroad .

" Most of the sales in Germany, Switzerland , the Netherlands , Austria, Czech Republic and the former Yugoslavia . So , sold throughout Europe ," explained Grapkić .

Not far from Gracanica and Gradačac municipality known as fruit and one of the largest manufacturing and trading centers plums in Bosnia and Herzegovina .

The most important industries in the municipality are textile , chemical , machinery and food .

Gradačac is also the venue of the traditional International Fair plums .
