The capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina today gets monument of Pope John Paul II


Monument to Pope John Paul II in honor of his peace mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina with a commemorative ceremony will be unveiled today at the square in front of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Sarajevo .

Pope - John - spomenikProjekt raise a monument to Pope initiative of the Croatian Cultural Society " Progress " and of the same archbishopric , and dates back to the 2007th with the goal to be devoted not only to Catholics but to all people of good will in BiH .

Monument to Pope will be about three meters tall , with 12 cubic feet of space and is made of siluminija , silver material , which is quite stable and better than previously planned bronze .

The solution is a young sculptor Hrvoje Urumović , born in Sarajevo , and residing in Zagreb .

At the unveiling of the monument is expected a large number of guests from the political , cultural, religious and public life in BiH .

Pope John Paul II twice visited Bosnia and Herzegovina - Sarajevo on 12 and 13 April 1997th year and Banja Luka on 22 June 2003rd year .

About Bosnia and Herzegovina in their speeches, saying even 263 times , and admitted Bosnia and Herzegovina month days after the referendum .
