CLINTON warned Israel that he was facing INSULATION

Clinton upozorio Izrael da mu prijeti izolacija

TEL AVIV - Former U.S. President Bill Clinton warned Israel that he was facing isolation due to the constant repetition of the conflict in the Gaza Strip, after Wednesday's four children were killed while playing on the shore. More than 220 Palestinians, mostly civilians, were killed during the 10 days of Israeli bombing and shelling of Gaza, in retaliation for firing more than 1,200 rockets and the Palestinian territories, which is controlled by Hamas. "In the long term is not good for Israel to stay isolated from world opinion in the absence of a peace process," Clinton said in the Indian NDTV news channel on Wednesday.

"In the short term, Hamas can inflict terrible damage to Israel, forcing him to kill Palestinian civilians," he added.
Hamas had "a strategy to force Israel to kill its own (Palestinian) civilians, to make it the rest of the world condemned Israel while he could not fool not responding to strong missile strikes." Clinton, who was pressured to reach a comprehensive peace agreement at the summit in Camp David 2000th year, appealed to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to renew serious negotiations. "I believe that Prime Minister Netanya can and should conclude a comprehensive peace agreement with the Palestinians," said Cinton, expressing his belief that 60 percent of Israelis supported Netanyahu. The goal should be a peace process that ensures the security of Israel recognition and peace, and that gives the Palestinians their state, Clinton said, as reported by AFP.
