'Insult Islam': Three years in prison for - atheism!
Egyptian court sentenced 21-year-old student to three years in prison for "insulting Islam" after being on Facebook pleaded as an atheist.
The young man because of his atheistic beliefs abused, and his father testified against him, arguing that the young man accepted the extremist propaganda against Islam, writes RT.
Karim Ashraf Mohammed Al-Banna was sentenced in court in Idkū, in the north of the country. He was arrested last November when police came to report abuse, but was killed when it was discovered that he had been abused because it is on the internet revealed that he was an atheist. At the trial it was established that its publication on Facebook insulting to Islam.
"He was prescribed a three-year prison sentence, and if the bail of 1,000 Egyptian pounds fine may be suspended pending the decision of the appeal court," said his lawyer Ahmed Abdel Nabi, adding that the plan to file an appeal in early March.
This is not the first sentence for atheism in Egypt: 2013 student Sherif Gaber Abdel Azim "earned" has 15 days to launch atheist group on Facebook, a year before the blogger Alber Saber was detained for publishing the film Innocence of Muslims on Facebook, he was sentenced to three years, but he was able to leave the country.
