"Putin will go as far as it is allowed. He wants the whole of Europe," said Poroshenko in an interview with Radio France Internationale and in some European newspapers.

"If they had asked me that two years ago, I would say that this is impossible, because the whole post-war security system would not allow it. And if I was asked today ... Unfortunately, everything is possible, because the annexation of Crimea and the eastern part of Ukraine show that we can break the global security system, "he said.

The fight for the whole of Europe

Poroshenko said that the fight against rebels supported by Russia in Eastern Ukraine should be seen as a struggle for the whole of Europe.

"Pripajenjem Crimea and aggression to the east of Ukraine, Putin has undermined the system of international security", he noted.

Moscow annexed Crimea in March 2014, after joining the Russian army on the peninsula and the controversial referendum that Kiev and the West assessed unlawful.

"Is it an attack on Finland possible? Yes. And Finland is aware of it. Is it possible to attack the Baltic countries? Of course. And the attack on the Black Sea area? Yes, it is possible to" categorically Poroshenko.

"Therefore, when we talk about the Ukrainians who are fighting in the east of my country, not only talking about the fight for the integrity and independence of Ukraine, but also the struggle for democracy, liberty and security of the entire European continent," said the Ukrainian leader.

The truce is regularly violated

The Ukrainian military conflict and pro-Russian rebels in the east of Ukraine from April 2014 killed more than 6,500 soldiers.

"As we speak, it's happening right aggression against my country, 9,000 Russian soldiers equipped with modern Russian weapons took the my country," said Poroshenko, condemning "gross violation of international law".
