Putin ordered the lawsuit if Kiev does not pay the debt

Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the Finance Minister Anton Siluanov to file a lawsuit against Ukraine if Kiev fails to pay the debt to Russia of three billion dollars in Eurobonds to 20 December, which was the deadline.

The Russian president is also recalled that Russia is ready to support Ukraine and share the risks with Europe and the International Monetary Fund / IMF /.

"It's been four years, which is more than enough to somehow mitigate these risks. I do not understand it. If so, I give permission to file a lawsuit against Ukraine," said Putin, according to "Sputnik".

The total Ukrainian debt amounts to 70 billion dollars, of which 40 billion the state owes to international creditors.

Ukrainian sovereign debt to Russia stems from an agreement between the Russian president and former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych in 2013, which stipulates that Moscow buys $ 15 billion worth of Ukrainian bonds.

Russia has bought bonds worth three billion US dollars on December 20, 2013, and the debt should be returned by 20 December 2015.

Putin in Kiev November offered a three-year repayment plan, but has not reached a formal response.

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said that he has the feeling that the authorities in Kiev will not pay the debt because it is a "thieves" and accused the West of its mixing only exacerbates the situation.
