Killed nine people in an attack near a Shiite mosque in Baghdad

At least ten people were killed on Wednesday in an attack that brought a suicide bomber near a Shiite mosque in eastern Baghdad, officials said security and lifeguards.

The explosion in the fourth Obeidi injured at least 19 people, according to rescuers.

No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, but the Islamic State (IS) regularly carried out attacks against Shiite civilians, the majority community in Iraq, which is considered heretical.
In late November, the IS has taken responsibility for the attack on a mosque in southern Baghdad that killed at least six and injured 19 people.
IS won large parts of Iraqi territory, in the west and north of Baghdad, after a meteoric derived offensive started in 2014.
