Mektic: RS Ministry of Interior continues to cooperate with the Court and the Prosecutor's Office
Security Minister Dragan Mektic told Beta news agency that he was Interior Minister Dragan Lukac told that from this Monday begins the cooperation of the RS police with the Court and Prosecution.
"I explained to him that about 50 persons of Serbian nationality, who after his arrest for war crimes released pending trial, has been in a situation that they be remanded in custody, because the RS Ministry of Interior not to cooperate with the Court and Prosecution and implementing restrictive measures, "said Mektic.
According to him, when he saw the seriousness of the situation, Lukac said it will tomorrow begin to cooperate with the Court and Prosecution.
Mektic said that the meeting came at Lukačev call, that is, as he said, he realized the seriousness of the new situation and who tried to "find a way out" of the situation in which he was brought after the RS government three days ago made the decision to discontinue Cooperation with SIPA and judicial institutions.
"We did not stop cooperation, we have not brought my conclusions, but the RS government. I explained Lukac that this situation is unsustainable and that the consequences of government decisions bear the citizens, especially those suspected of war crimes, who are pending trial released" , said Mektic.
He added that the new situation would not and will not speak to the president of the RS, Milorad Dodik.
Mektic said that SIPA still continue to act in accordance with its mandate and will continue to operate throughout BiH, including RS.
In Banja Luka, the evening of overcoming the new situation in the MUP of the Republic of Serbian and the Agency for Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) talked Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbian Dragan Lukac, BiH Security Minister Dragan Mektic, as well as the directors of SIPA Perica Stanic and the RS Police, Gojko Vasic, said the MUP RS.
It was agreed that the existing agreement on operational cooperation and coordination of processing and precisely defined, and agreed further cooperation in the fight against terrorism, the statement said.
As announced by the Ministry of Interior of RS, during the following week, this operating agreement will be negotiated and signed by Vasic and Stanic "with a view to more effective treatment and coordination in future cooperation."
The RS government three days ago decided to stop any further cooperation with SIPA and judicial institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Minister of Internal Affairs of the RS earlier today said that the RS MUP and weapons to prevent any attempt of SIPA to enter RS institutions.
