Novalić pointed out that the mining sector and its stability essential backbone of energy independence in the Federation.

- We wanted to purchase the miners that we are not opposing sides and it is already proving. We already have the first 22 plus 39 million KM sent through investments in the mine Kakanj and Zenica - said Novalić.

The mines are, in his words, in the security and technological terms very neglected despite earlier investments.

- Besides, in the past invested about 380 million, of which 180 from the Federal Government and 200 from Elektroprivreda BiH, it is clear that at least that much should be invested in the next four to six years, so we mines led to be profitable and stable manufacturers because we need a stable supply of electricity, and thus stable mines - said Novalić.

The position of miners and working conditions, he said the president of the Independent Union of Workers of the mine FBiH Sinan Husic, have always been difficult, demanding and complex. The key issue is the reliability of the equipment you are running these works in mining facilities. Husic said that it is now at an unsatisfactory level, but on a better, higher level in comparison with 2009. Husic believes that the solution to bad conditions in the mines to raise the intensity of investment, but also facing the "internal weaknesses".

- We are delighted that he presented a new investment phase of Elektroprivreda BiH for the period 2016-2018. years and if it is implemented in full, we can start talking about the reliability of the equipment at a satisfactory level. Also, we ourselves need to look at our weaknesses, eliminate them and achieve what you ultimately want, which are safer and more humane working conditions which will ensure the possibility of achieving adequate production results, which will make mines financially stable - said Husic.

Executive Director of the Nevada Ikanović Elektroprivreda BiH said that in the past four years have seen a decline in production of about one million tonnes of coal mines in the Federation, and also parameters of the wider pit preparations were insufficient for the provision of new capacity.

So in November recorded production of 408,000 tons in coal mines which are part of the group which is the largest production in the last 18 months - said Ikanović.

In parallel, he added, provided the normal functioning of the coal mines and prepared a new investment cycle for the period 2016th-2018th year.

- The new investment cycle is aimed at coal mines in the Federation made economically viable in a way to produce sufficient quantities of coal for the existing thermal units and a new investment cycle ensure the capacity of coal mines for the construction of new thermal units. The new investment cycle is projected at just over 300 million, where for each mine made the concept of what should be done from the new generating capacity, and from those in the current exploitation, and to bring in the projected state - said Ikanović.
