SIPA arrested six people in Sarajevo, Mostar and Bugojno

Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) this morning in the operative action "Lift" in Sarajevo, Mostar and Bugojno arrested six people and raided facilities in six locations.

These activities were carried out by order of the Court, in cooperation with police officers, the Ministry of Interior of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and Canton Sarajevo. A special form of assistance, provided by the Federal Administration of Civil Protection.

Today's action is the result of months of investigation by the police officers of SIPA conducted under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office.

They were arrested H. H. (1983), M.S. (1961), M.Š. (1959), MP (1978), NP (1957) and MM (1978), due to grounded suspicion that they committed a criminal offense "Organized Crime", in relation to the offenses "Illicit Trafficking in Arms and Military Equipment and Dual Use".

The gang is suspected of having, together with other persons known to them were members of an organized criminal group, which in 2015 organized act for the acquisition, transfer and resale of weapons in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Federal Republic of Germany and the Republic of Serbia, with the aim of obtaining illegal gain.

The search found a larger quantity of weapons, ammunition, explosives and explosive devices, which have been temporarily seized and will serve as evidence in further proceedings against these men.

The arrested individuals were detained at the police station SIPA where they come under criminal investigation, after which, with a report on the crime committed and the perpetrators to be handed over to the BiH Prosecutor's Office, said the SIPA.
