The US economy continues to recover

The US economy has increased the number of new jobs in December as much as 292.000 - what the economists say - a sign that the world's largest economy is growing at good speed, despite the recent storm in the financial markets and stocks, according to Voice of America.

In today's report, the US Department of Labour says, among other things, that the level of unemployment is still five per cent, which has not changed in the last three months. This is the lowest unemployment rate in more than seven years.

The increase in jobs was much higher than experts expect - so does the number of new employees in administrative business, construction, health care, and public services, such as restaurants. Only the mining industry is losing jobs due to record low prices for oil and gasoline.

But it should be mentioned that the number of unemployed remains high for US conditions - about 7.9 million people, while about six million working part-time.
