Emir of Qatar arrives in first official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina

The ruler of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, arrived today in the first official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Emir of Qatar is in front of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the highest state honors greeted Presidency Chairman Dragan Covic.

Al-Thani will be during a one-day visit to Sarajevo to meet with the highest representatives of legislative and executive authorities in BiH - the BiH Presidency members, the management of Representatives and House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH and the BiH Council of Ministers.

Qatar is a country with less than two million inhabitants, located in the Arabian Peninsula, and one of the richest countries in the world. The economy of Qatar is based on the supply of oil and gas, which make up the majority of exports of the monarchy (emirate). Qatar has recognized the independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina on 22 October 1992, while the diplomatic relations between the two countries established on 22 January 1993.
