Arrested three persons for war crimes committed in Prijedor

By order of the Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes, in the action of police officers of SIPA, early this morning, the suspects were deprived of liberty:

Darko Mrdja first, born in 1967 in Zagreb, residing in Prijedor, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Second Marinovic Radenko, born 15.12.1972. in Sanski Most, residing in Prijedor, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina

3rd Gavrilovic Milan, born 09.09.1958. year in Hasani, residing in Prijedor, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina

The fourth suspect, Zoran Babic Vol. "Grandma", born 01.06.1968. in Prijedor, is serving a prison sentence on the basis of a final judgment for the Koricanske rocks and prosecutor will be brought from the institution where he is serving a sentence.The suspects are under investigation and are charged with having, in 1992, the area of Prijedor area, within a widespread and systematic attack on the population of Bosniak and Croatian nationality in this area, as members of the Interventions Squad and police PSC Prijedor, acted contrary the provisions of international humanitarian law and the Geneva conventions on the protection of civilian persons in time of war.

They are charged with acting together and individually, during the month of August 1992 and transport of illegally detained civilians of Bosniak and Croatian nationality from the Manjaca camp and Omarska, in front of those camps and during transport, followed the listed transport and committed murder, torture, abuse and beatings of detainees, and some suspect personally and directly, using cold steel and firearms, inflicted injuries and murders committed by the victims.

Mrdja suspect is under investigation for murder and three Bosniaks in the area of the core, in July 1992, as well as taking a civilian from Tukovi in an unknown direction after he disappeared without a trace.The suspects are under investigation for the murder of at least 10 people, as well as torture, ill-treatment and beatings of 4 illegally detained victims.They are suspected of committing crimes-Crimes against Humanity under Article 172 CC BiH.These suspects will be handed over to the assigned prosecutor, who will examine them and then decide on further activities.
