CONSUMER FRAUD: Instead of coffee, drink peas, acorns, corn, soybeans and barley!

The latest research by the Center of consumers showed that real coffee is only in every fourth bag we buy while other grains with this drink are the peas, acorns, corn, soybeans and barleyThe packaging is the coffee presented as pure, no additives, and testing, we found that this is not true. In fact, in it are added to soybeans, barley, corn, acorns or industrial peas - cited in CEPS.

The problem is that manufacturers in the packaging does not indicate that the surrogate can not bet in any percentage.

For example, in Serbia there are more than 200 commercial brands of coffee, and 90 percent of them do not have proper declaration. This means that there is no list of ingredients, their quantity, storage conditions, not specified series, it does not say anything about allergens and the like - says Ruzica Madžarević the Center consumers. In Croatia, there is nothing better.

Experts believe that the insertion surrogates all over the practice of small coffee producers because thus produce larger quantities of the beverage and the job they are more profitable.President of the National Consumer Organization Goran Papović says so deceiving customers.

We think that we buy coffee, but in fact we buy peas or barley! If there is a surrogate coffee, it then has to write on the label.Penalties for incorrect declarations are not so high, so that the abuse more often.
