Turkey - GAZIANTEP dropping two rockets fired from Syria

Two rockets fired from Syria crashed today in the vicinity of the international airport Gaziantep, a large city in southern Turkey, about 40 kilometers from the border, but there were no casualties, news agency Dogan.

One missile landed in the garden of a series of houses for workers in Gaziantep Oguzeli Airport and the other on a deserted field.

Military officials and the governor of the province of Gaziantep came to the scene, announced the agency said, adding that it happened around 10:50 pm local time (07:50 Central European), without any other precision. A number of rockets that Turkish authorities attribute group Islamic State (IS), hit this year border town of Kilis. However, the project does not penetrate deep into the Turkish territory: Gaziantep airport is located about četrtdesetak kilometers from the Syrian border.

It was impossible to immediately find out whether it is a "stray" missile fired during a fight that water in the north of Syria or salves that deliberately targeted the airport.Last month, several European leaders, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel and President of the Council of Europe Donald Tusk were in Gaziantep. Kilis, southwest of Gaziantep was targeted from the beginning of the year dozens of rockets that killed at least 21 people and around 70 injured. Five people were injured on Friday, announced AFP.
