"The citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina to travel to EU member states and the Schengen area, except for biometric passports, should have the money in the amount of 35-70 euros for each day of stay in the EU. The border services may require proof of funds to stay in a particular country or information about the address where you'll be staying, "explained Satko Blow, an adviser in the Department of VPP, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The minimum amount of funds that need to have foreigners who travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina is 150 KM (or equivalent in foreign convertible currency) for each day of intended stay.
What you need to get a passport:
The authorities responsible for issuing passports, as in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the DCMs abroad, from 15 October 2009 issue passports with contactless chip - biometric passports. This means that the first condition for obtaining a passport registration identification number (PIN) into the central database of the civil registry. This operation can be carried out in Bosnia and Herzegovina, by place of residence, or in the DCMs, the place of residence of BiH citizens abroad. In accordance with the Law on Travel Documents of Bosnia and Herzegovina, diplomatic - consular offices issuing passports to citizens of BiH who live abroad for three months or longer.
This process requires the competent authority to submit the following documents:
· A copy of the birth certificate - original, not older than 6 months,
· A certificate of citizenship - original, not older than 6 months and
· Form JMB-7 for registration of JMB in the central database of the civil registry.
This procedure is carried out electronically via the DCR BiH and BiH citizens is done at no charge to the consular fee. Citizens who possess valid identity cards are not subject to registration of JMB, but officials may request that the application be accompanied by a copy of the birth certificate and certificate of citizenship, which in this case does not have to be original and can not be older than 6 months.
After documenting the JMB in the central database of the Civil Registry, the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina are obliged to appear in person at the premises of DKP works applying for a passport and giving biometric data - photo, signature and fingerprints in the presence of officials. In accordance with the technical possibilities, diplomatic and consular missions can be organized taking of biometric data in cities with a growing population of citizens of BiH.
For issuing passports for minors (under 18 years of age) require approval of both parents, who must also have registered JMB-e in the central database of the Civil Registry.
The passports of Bosnia and Herzegovina, both for those citizens who live in the country, and for those who live abroad, are issued for a period of:
- Three years for the age of 0-3 years,
- Five years for the age of 03-18 years,
- Ten years for the age of 18 years onwards.
