The main reason why women decide to divorce

Therapists who specialize in marriage can be considered true experts in the field of divorce. Let's face it: they are often the last resort for couples when it comes to the survival of their marriage. As a result, they possess a wealth of knowledge when it comes to understanding what is thrown over the side of spouses and how to avoid these circumstances.

Huffington Post spoke with double therapists to find a deeper understanding of what drives women to the point of no return in their heterosexual marriage. According to Kristin Davin, psychologist from New York, women often feel "for granted" in the marriage relationship and believe that marriage is their responsibility entirely.

"To make a marriage successful, both spouses should equally work on it," said Davin for the Huffington Post. "It requires attention, effort, intention and communicate with each other. At the end of the day, many women are wondering what all make for your family and where their husband in all this." After years of this imbalance, many women in the end say, "Why bother?"As with any relationship, open communication is key to keeping things happy, healthy and time-consuming.

"Good communication skills are a key ingredient in a healthy marriage," says therapist Christine Wilke. "Many women do not feel showcased and certified in a relationship."
