The shortage of blood, the Institute for Transfusion Medicine of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina invited all citizens

The Institute for Transfusion Medicine of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina sent today appealed to citizens, blood donors to come to the Institute to give blood because of reduced blood supply.

The period of the holidays and the harder it is to get to the blood donor. In the summer months, with the intensification of traffic on the roads is growing and the number of accidents, and thus the need for greater supplies of blood. A larger number of doses needed for care of the injured, performing regular surgery, treatment of anemia, cancer and other conditions that require therapy, blood components, according to the Institute.

It takes the blood of all blood groups and is currently the most prominent deficit of A + and O + blood group. Reserve levels are reduced, because a day at the Institute and in the field collect significantly fewer units of blood than is necessary for the care of patients in hospitals.

From the Institute for Transfusion Medicine of FBiH asking all citizens who are healthy and have a good will to come and donate blood.Department urges citizens to donate blood to prevent dumping of operational programs and enable timely management of patients who need blood transfusions for treatment and recovery.

Citizens can give blood in the Department of Transfusion Medicine at Čekaluša 86 every day 7:30 to 7:00 p.m., Saturday 7:30 a.m. to 15:00 pm, as well as in organized actions on the ground.
