ALARMING: BH as sixth AFTER DEATH DUE TO POLLUTED AIR
Bosnia and Herzegovina is in sixth place, which is shared with Armenia, the number of deaths per 100,000 population, the consequences caused by polluted air, a report by the World Health Organization, said the Eco Action.Other countries, states, which are located on the top of the list have a well-developed heavy industry, while BiH main problem is the disorganization and lack of care institutions on the environment. According to the report, in most cities, the main source of air pollution is heating homes dirty fuels.
After last winter pollution that is recorded in Tuzla, Lukavac, Zenica, Sarajevo, Prijedor, Banja Luka and Jajce, many ministries at various levels of government, which has the duty to care about the environment and health of citizens are not done practically nothing to improve the situation, claims the Eco action.- Moreover, no longer able even to measurements of air pollution, which are of great importance, work in the manner provided by law. For example, in Tuzla canton, five stationary measuring stations, in the last two months has only one monitor pollution airborne particles - according to reports.
In Sarajevo, added two important measuring stations were moved to the new location, right next to the river Miljacka, contrary to all causes were measuring and legal provisions, where will stand out, mainly to send false information about the state of air quality.
