73 years ago laid the foundations of modern BiH: Homeland Happy National Day!

Bosnia and Herzegovina's Statehood Day, 73 anniversary of the founding of the modern state with equal status and sovereignty as well as the other republics of the former Yugoslavia.

Equality, freedom and the common future of the basic principles which were confirmed at the first session of the National Anti-Fascist Council of National Liberation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ZAVNOBiH), which was held in the evening from 25 to 26 November 1943 in Mrkonjic Grad.Therefore, this is the most important day in the history of our country, who has returned to BiH its authentic being, a magnificent event in the modern history of our country who represented an epochal breakthrough Nations in the field of freedom and equality.

The first meeting ZAVNOBiH began in Mrkonjic Grad on 25 November 1943 in 19 hours. Finished the same night, 26 November, at four o'clock in the morning. This inaugural meeting was attended by 247 delegates from all over the country, of which 173 with voting rights. At the first session, ZAVNOBiH was formally constituted as a representation of the People's Liberation Movement (NOP) of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but in reality and practice acted as its highest authority.

The delegates adopted a resolution ZAVNOBiH Proclamation and the peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the statement that the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its people at home and abroad, may represent the only ZAVNOBiH and AVNOJ.The documents also expressed determination of the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina that their country, which is neither Serbian nor Croatian, nor Muslim, but Serbian and Croatian and Muslim, is twinned community in which it will be ensured full equality of all Serbs, Muslims and Croats.
