DRIVERS, CAUTION: From today began implementation of a new "punitive tariffs"

Drivers in BiH today expect much more rigorous penalties for traffic violations.

Those who sit behind the wheel under the influence of alcohol, not wearing a seat belt or inadequately transported children, waiting much higher fines than in the past.Many unscrupulous drivers are rightly fearful of its provisions, which are much more rigorous than the previous law. So will all those who refuse the breathalyser test or they have more than 1.5 per mille of alcohol in the blood to pay the penalty 400-1000 marks.

Instead of the 30 marks for the detachment zone, the future will be for this offense to be charged from 100 to 300 marks. Penalties 400-1000 KM are designed for drivers who drive an unregistered car, as well as those carrying a child younger than 12 years in the front seat. The Act provides for the prohibition of the use of mobile phones and headsets for pedestrians.

Director of the Agency for Traffic Safety of the RS Mili Radovic stated that severe penalties were necessary and that it will provide a much better road safety.

- The highest number of road accidents occur due to speeding and driving drunk. Now the sanctions for these violations much higher and it will certainly effectively combat these offenses - says Radovic.He added that the new law is punishable by the use of devices that interfere with radars or measured speed of the vehicle.

Campaign

The RS daily from traffic has been switched off between 40 and 50 drivers for driving under the influence of alcohol.To reduce their number and increase the level of safety, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, Ministry of Interior and the Automobile Association of Slovenia have launched a prevention campaign called "Alcohol plus steering wheel is just as lethal combination / Happy New, victimless"
Mili Radovic said that the message about the dangers of alcohol to be transferred in 23 local communities in the RS through preventive caravan, where citizens will be able to try the so-called "drunk glasses".

- Fast Ride - penalties 50-1000

- A drunk drivers and those who refuse breathalyser test - penalties 400-1000

- Drivers who use a mobile phone - fines of 100 to 300 marks

Cyclists and motorcyclists without helmets buttoned - penalty of 50 marks

- Pedestrian who on August using a mobile phone or headset in your ears - 40 marks

- Driving off in the short light - 30 stamps

- A cyclist or motorcyclist carrying a drunk person - 30 stamps
