SITUATION IN THE BALKANS: TWO STATES before the break, three in deep crisis

The European Union is becoming less serious interlocutor in issues of enlargement, left the Western Balkans, and the result is that today two of the local country from disintegration, and three in deep crisis, said in Brussels, Slovak Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak.

- The EU is becoming less serious interlocutor when it comes to expansion. We are from the Western Balkans stepped in word and deed, and now we see the consequences - we have two countries that are about to collapse, and three that are in deep political crisis. And the reason is that the EU should fulfill its leadership role, as parties to the dialogue, which should provide the perspective of these countries - Lajcak said, before the meeting of the foreign ministers, who on the agenda are the discussion and the situation in the countries of Southeast Europe.

The High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Federica Mogherini will brief ministers on his last week's visit to these countries.

- I think that the High Representative returned frustrated with the Balkan route - says Lajcak.

Croatian Foreign Minister Davor Ivo Stier said, ahead of a meeting that will debate emphasis on Bosnia and Herzegovina and its European path.

- We are interested in the stability of Southeast Europe and to continue the reform process in these countries. We will of course put emphasis on our neighboring and friendly country of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its European path and stability - said Stier, who last week visited Sarajevo together with his Hungarian counterpart Peter Szijjarto.
