Crowd on the border with Slovenia and CROATIAN FROM 7 APRIL
At the border crossing with Slovenia and Croatian of 7 April are expected to be longer retention because begin systematic checks on the external borders of the Schengen area for all travelers.
Regulation (EU) 2017/458 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 March alter the currently valid standards of carrying out the controls at the borders, and this is especially true of citizens of the European Union. Until now, it was enough that members of the border police carry out basic control of passengers quick and easy checking the validity of travel documents of citizens of the European Union, however, due to regulation, their documents will have to check in the Schengen Information System (SIS), the Interpol database of stolen and lost travel documents, and the national database for stolen, misused, lost or damaged travel documents.
Border guards Slovenia will thoroughly check the travel documents of all persons with special readers, document by document, at every border crossing. This regulation system checks does not provide for any exceptions. At border crossings where the controls are carried together with the Croatian authorities, will apply the same procedure of the State Border Police Croatian.
Therefore, border control procedures will last much longer, and will be extended waiting time for crossing the Croatian border at certain border crossings, especially during periods of congestion (public holidays and the tourist season). While the Slovenian police officers to engage all its infrastructure and human resources with the aim of minimizing consequences of the application of the Regulation, it will be impossible to completely avoid the longer retention of passengers at border crossings that will arise as a result of detailed checking of travel documents at the external borders of the EU. Passengers are advised to check the status of documents, especially if the last two years have been stolen, lost or damaged. This is necessary to ensure the information on the documents correctly entered in the state and other databases.
Also, it is advisable to avoid travel to Croatia over the weekend unless he reserved such an arrangement that begins and ends at the weekend, it was announced from BIHAMK, reports Fena.
