IZETBEGOVIĆ SA Johnson: Great Britain supports BiH commitment for the EU and NATO

Bakir Izetbegovic, member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina met today in Sarajevo Boris Johnson, British Foreign Secretary. Izetbegovic thanked the UK for supporting BiH, especially in the process of Euro-Atlantic integration, and expressed confidence that the country will continue to support the reform process in BiH.

In an interview with the British Foreign Minister, Boris Johnson, Izetbegovic said that BiH, in the context of its reform path and achieving candidate status, committed to continue the implementation of measures from the reform agenda.He stressed the importance of the British-German initiative, and said that, in addition to the reform process in Bosnia and Herzegovina key integration of the entire Western Balkans, both for political and economic stability, as well as for security across Europe.

Condemning the terrorist attack that took place near the British Parliament in London, Izetbegovic stressed the commitment of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the fight against terrorism and cooperation in this regard with the United Kingdom.State Secretary for Foreign Affairs Johnson pointed out that although the United Kingdom leave the European Union will not leave Europe, and that BiH will continue to be on the list of foreign policy priorities, emphasizing that his country supports the commitment of BiH to join the EU and NATO.

"Great Britain is prepared to economic and political support BiH, especially in the implementation of the Reform Agenda and the Strategic Defense Review document, which was adopted by the BiH Presidency, I expect that will maintain the second Trade and Investment Forum in September in London, and the Western Balkans summit, in the framework of Berlin process next year to contribute to the further economic development of BiH and significant investment in BiH, said Johnson.
The meeting was attended by Diana Hammer, advisor of BiH Presidency Chairman Mladen Ivanic, and Dejan Vanjek, advisor to the Croatian member of the BiH Presidency Dragan Covic.

During last night's meeting that the Chairman of the Council of Ministers Denis Zvizdic and chief bh.diplomatije Igor Crnadkom, Johnson said that the United Kingdom remains committed to the stability and security of Europe, especially when it comes to the Western Balkans and Bosnia and Herzegovina.Johnson said that the United Kingdom, and in addition to leaving the European Union, continue to be committed to peace and stability in the region, and expressed satisfaction that the administration of the British-German initiative launched a cycle of reforms in BiH.

"We are committed to you by the end of follow through and be with you long term, and to do everything we can to quickly implement reforms," said British Foreign Minister.
