BiH-EU / Brussels: Husein ef. Kavazović met with Federico Mogherini

Reis-ul-ulema of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina Husein ef. Kavazović met in Brussels with EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy and European Commission Vice President Federico Mogherini.

The meeting discussed about the contribution of religious communities the path towards Europe. Reis-ul-Ulema Kavazović stressed the importance of maintaining hope of an imminent accession of the Balkan states of the EU and living necessity of preventing attempts to convert the Balkan area around which rob the great powers.

Federica Mogherini reiterated its strong support for the European perspective of Bosnia and Herzegovina. During the day, Reis-ul-Ulema Kavazović also met with Vice President of the European Parliament Mairead McGuinness. During both meetings, Reis-ul-Ulema drew attention to attempts at political struggle against violent extremism and radicalism and the need to build trust, not only in BiH but also in the region. Reis-ul-Ulema Kavazović also met with members of the group Friends of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the European Parliament. Friends of Bosnia and Herzegovina is an informal group of parliamentarians who are helping BiH on its path of European integration.

During the day, Reis-ul-Ulema Kavazović will meet with Christian Dan Preda, special rapporteur for Bosnia and Herzegovina in the European Parliament.

It is planned to tonight Reis-ul-Ulema Kavazović and delegation Riyaset where Razim Colic, Director of External Relations and the diaspora and Muhamed Jusic, consultant Reis-ul-ulema for relations with the media and Seinaid ef. Keel, representatives from the BiH in the EU institutions, and meet with members of the community who live and work in Antwerp and who here have their own congregation.
