The Law on Citizenship of Bosnia and Herzegovina states that a citizen who has reached 18 years, who lives abroad and has citizenship of another state, or has been guaranteed the citizenship of another state, has the right to renounce the citizenship of BiH.
Also, a child who lives abroad and has citizenship of another country, or is it guaranteed, terminated the citizenship of BiH by renunciation upon the request of both parents whose citizenship of BiH was lost by renunciation, or at the request of one parent whose citizenship was terminated by renouncement, if the other parent is dead or lost parental rights or is a foreigner or a stateless person, or at the request of the adopter if he stopped BiH citizenship renunciation and if the relationship between the adopter and the adopted child of full adoption. If the child is older than 14 years requires his consent.
