Vučić confessed: "I did not want to stop the demolition of the mosque"
Serbia's Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said in a TV show on Pink last night that he was informed about the demolition of the mosque in Zemun Polje.
"I was informed of the attempt to demolish because he was calling my counselor at 4:40 am, as he called an ambassador on one side of the country to press for the law not to be enforced, and then he was called by another ambassador with the same request. False morals, "Vučić said. In this way, he admitted that he had refused the ambassadors' requests not to demolish the mosque, or to allow the municipal authorities in Zemun to continue demolishing.
After this recognition, Aleksandar Vucic hypocriteously accused Muslims from Zemun Fields and the Islamic community of deceiving power. "It's been a story for a year. He wants to make a mess, jama or mosque. When they reached the second floor, when they came to ruin, they called me and asked not to break with the promise they would not build. I called the municipal president and said that good relations with the Islamic community are important to us and that we need to talk in order to see what can be done, "Vučić said.
He said that from the Islamic community they said they would not continue building, but they made a promise."They continued to act contrary to the law and their words, leading to great danger, along with some politicians and media, drew the target to some just because they respected the law," Vucic said.
In the end he said that as President he was always prepared to protect all Muslims and members of all religions.
