Balašević: In Tuzla I am home to my own

After a long time, Đorđe Balašević will hold a concert in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina town for which he has many memories.

The show, which will be broadcast on Friday (June 23rd, starting at 21:30), this popular songwriter from the New Now tells, among other things, about his Tuzlan experiences.

"Tuzla was always a big surprise to me because, above all, Tuzla is not exactly the most beautiful city in the world. That part of it when it comes to those high kilns, so if it is some time for fall, it passes through all the places where the coal is loaded, where it was always muddy ... However, suddenly comes Tuzla - the ultraputitive " , He points out.

The first performance was in the hall of the Faculty of Technology. His friends from the band Neoplanti, who played with him then sat in front of the hall and "coughed some beer that was not a problem at all."

"There were no people here. I said, 'Where are the people'? They said, 'There was no advertising here and something went wrong, there was no one, here we are waiting for someone to appear, there is nobody.' And I was still relatively at the beginning of my career, a little confused, but I was struggling not to show it. Like, 'Well, it's happening, we can not really get anywhere in the audience.' "

Then he entered the hall - which had already been filled.

"They were all there before, no one was in front of the hall. Everyone was in and took places all around ... The concert was awesome, they all roared ... I was so sorry that Tuzla was always underwhelmed whenever we did a tour. "(...)

Tuzla was one of the first cities Balašević visited "when we came to Bosnia with passports after, as a stranger".

"It was not difficult to go to Tuzla because there were two or three cities in Bosnia in which we did all the while. There are big cities in Bosnia, where I've never played, that was just a folk center and they did not call me, but Tuzla was obliged. And here, one of our Bangladesh officers explained 'This is Tuzla'. Brother, I do not tell you 'This is Bangladesh', your hands tell me this is Tuzla, I'm home here, on my own. "(...)

His great wish is that the upcoming performance in the north of BiH will succeed. He points out that this is the first time for a concert at the stadium, "but just for the flight, not because of some affinity to the record, that we have four million as they write when they make a concert at The Entrance."
