The Netherlands partially accepted the guilt for the death of Srebrenica

The Netherlands is only partially responsible for the death of more than 300 Srebrenica people. It was confirmed by the second instance verdict of the district court in The Hague.

These were people who were in the United Nations base, that is, the Dutch Battalion in Potocari, at the moment when the Republika Srpska Army captured Srebrenica. According to the verdict, Dutch soldiers behaved illegally when Bosnian Muslims were expelled from the base, but it can not be concluded that they were 100 per cent responsible for the fate of these people.

The decision was pronounced on the suit filed by the Mother of Srebrenica against the state of the Netherlands.
