Barnier set Britain's tough conditions for Brexit

The head of the European Union's negotiating team for Brexit Michel Barnier has set Britain's tough conditions to be met during the first months of the talks before both parties can begin considering future relations.

Barnier said Britain should make "sufficient progress" in citizens' rights, a bill that has to pay the EU and the Irish border issues before the negotiations are directed to a future trade agreement.

After British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson declared that the EU could "rattle" Britain to pay a high bill for leaving, Barnier reacted with the statement "I do not hear any whistle, I only hear the clock typing" because the deadline, March 2019, Is fast approaching, reports Associated Press.
