Trump made the US into a crisis, Congress should stop it
Former head of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), John Brennan, has criticized Donald Trump, president of the United States, saying his administration has plunged the country into crisis.
Brennan, along with former Director of National Intelligence Services James Clapper, visited the Security Forum in Aspen, Colorado. Brennan turned to an investigation into the involvement of Russia in the country's presidential election and said that Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller was an excellent choice for this investigation. He stressed that Mueller must reject every Trump non-constitutional request, and in connection with allegations that the prosecutor could be dismissed, Brennan said:
"In the event that Trump dropped Mueller, I hope that Congress members will say 'enough' and that they will stop giving different reasons and excuses that openly violate our laws and the state system."
As he said, if the administration has nothing to hide, it is necessary to end the investigation in relation to Russia as soon as possible, and the demands for Mueller's removal from office should also be condemned by officials. The former chief of the CIA further states that "Trump has gotten into the crisis by its actions," and points out that it is a shameful fact that Trump is downplaying the estimates of intelligence agencies in relation to Russia. "I do not understand how Trump thinks such a policy is to make the United States a safer country. Speaking openly, there is a clear concern that there is a big difference between the real and what Trump says, "Brennan said.
