The House of Peoples of the PSBiH adopted the Pelješac Bridge Declaration

The House of Peoples of the PSBiH adopted the Pelješac Bridge Declaration

Delegates to the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PSBiH), without the votes of the Bosniak Club, today adopted the Declaration on the Pelješac Bridge question proposed by Sredoje Nović (Alliance of Independent Social Democrats - SNSD) after a break at the session of the House, unites all delegates' discussions.

This declaration responds to the Declaration of the House of Representatives on the issue of the construction of the land bridge in Pelješac and some other issues in the relations between BiH and the Republic of Croatia, as well as relations between BiH and the European Union.

In the newly adopted declaration of the House of Peoples, it is stated that Article IV of the Constitution of BiH stipulates that the PSBiH consists of two houses and that the House of Peoples does not question the right of the House of Representatives to issue declarations and other acts, emphasizes that the House of Representatives Declaration is not considered and is not taken into consideration House of Peoples of the PSBiH.

- The House of Peoples points out that the Declaration adopted by the House of Representatives without the position of the House of Peoples has the significance of the Declaration House of Representatives, not the Parliamentary Assembly. The House of Peoples submits this Declaration to the Presidency, the Council of Ministers and the competent authorities of Croatia and the EU. The declaration comes into force on the day of its adoption, and it will be published in the Official Gazette - it is stated in a declaration adopted by the House of Peoples.

Nović also said that a debate on a very important topic was being conducted today, but that the Declaration proposed by the Croatian Club, which, among other things, is about violation of the Constitution, and claims that the House of Representatives Declaration does not represent the official position of the PSBiH, would not be acceptable for all.

- We tried to offer the text of the declaration in the Club in order to avoid everything that was in the discussion, not to challenge the House of Representatives the sovereign right to adopt attitudes and make declarations, but also that we are not interpreting the Constitution of BiH - explained Nović.

House Speaker of the Croatian Club Barisa Colak requested that the declaration be included in the declaration that the House of Representatives has no legal consequences, but that Nović, in the name of the Serb Club, did not accept it, assessing that this home is not competent to talk about what produces legal consequences.

Previously, without the votes of the Bosniak Club, the Information on the adopted House of Representatives Declaration concerning the construction of the Pelješac Bridge was received.
