"BH train" transported about 100,000 passengers in a year

Over the past year, the FBiH Railways have transported about 100,000 passengers on regular and special "BH trains", which represents an increase of 32 percent, while the revenue from collection of tickets in passenger traffic has doubled.

Exactly one year ago, on September 26, 2016, FBiH Railways introduced the first Talgo set of the modern "BH train" on the Sarajevo-Doboj-Sarajevo route. Since then, the number of passengers has grown from day to day.

With the opening of the lines to the south on June 8, 2017, the FBiH Railways reconnected "Sarajevo-Chaplin" by BH train, and on June 15, 2017, a fast-start "BH Voz" with bus connections to Neum and Makarska was introduced on that route. Also, the line Sarajevo-Banja Luka was re-established, on August 1, 2017 and Tuzla was first connected with the railway traffic from the two cities.

From the FBiH Railways, the first indication that they made the right move by introducing these trains into traffic was when on July 1, 2017, because of the extremely large number of interested passengers and sold tickets, they had to introduce a double set of "BH train" to the south. On the occasion of the World Championship jumping held in Mostar on September 16, 2017, the FBiH Railways, in addition to the regular line in traffic, introduced three additional compositions "BH Voza" because on that day the Mostar was looking for a ticket more.

- By appreciating the needs of the users of our services, the FBiH Railways plan to connect Sarajevo with Bihać in the near future. To that end, certain activities have already been undertaken, primarily related to the electrification of one part of the "Unea Railway", after which the conditions will be met to connect Sarajevo and Bihać with "BH train". This would mean fulfilling one of the strategic goals of the ŽFBiH - to increase the railways passenger traffic to an ever-increasing bh. cities - said from the Public Relations Office of the Federation of BiH.
