Bin Salman: Palestinians need to accept the Trump proposal or some shout

The Saudi prince crowned the Palestinian leadership at a meeting with Jewish organizations in the United States.

Saudi prince Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman told US-based Jewish leaders that the Palestinian leadership must accept the conditions for peace offered by the administration of US President Donald Trump, the Israeli media said.

During a closed meeting last month in New York with organization leaders, Bin Salman sharply criticized Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Channel 10 reported Sunday quoting Israeli diplomatic sources.

"In the past few decades, the Palestinian leadership missed the opportunity for the occasion and rejected all the peace proposals that were offered," the words of Bin Salman in the text of Barack Ravid, senior diplomatic correspondent of Channel 10, are quoted.

"It's time for the Palestinians to accept bids and agree to come to the negotiating table or to shut up and stop complaining."

Relations between Kushner and Bin Salman
Trump acknowledged Jerusalem as the capital of Israel in December, prompting international criticism.

Bin Salman allegedly pressed Abbas to accept the US peace proposal after Trump's move. However, the Palestinian leadership has boycotted the White House since then. Abbas said the US was no longer a "sincere mediator" in peace negotiations.

The Saudi prince and Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, reportedly have close relations. Kushner asked Bin Salman for advice on the region after Trump appointed him to oversee the negotiations between Palestinians and Israelis.

Bin Salman also criticized the Palestinian leadership and said peace talks between Israel and Palestine should continue before Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states normalize relations with Israel.

Saudi officials did not comment on these reports.
