Zenica Zeljezara workers: We leave as soon as we get salaries and shipments

A group of about 150 workers of the Zenica Zeljezara, who had been hungry for four days, blocked the main road M-17 early morning, which ended their strike, but the workers said they would not leave until they paid their salaries, severance payments and trainees , reports Anadolu Agency (AA).

Avdija Halilovic, the president of the workers' union Zeljezara Zenica, told the Anadolu Agency (AA) that they received information that the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) Fadil Novalic will not come to Zenica.

"We do not require Prime Minister Novalic to come, let him pay us 3,800,000 KM, as needed for our thirteen salaries, and severance payments, and we agree to leave the roads. Send four million to the account of the bankruptcy manager, we immediately leave the road and leave, and you settle out of our property that you know we have, "said Halilovic.

He added that they have the support of trade unions and other organizations, as well as citizens who want to go from Sarajevo to Zenica in order to support the workers.

"Our six colleagues and three colleagues received easier physical injuries, emergency intervention, but we did not send them to the hospital. We did not even ask for a dead list, nor do we intend to file a complaint against the police, it was not fair and let us sort it out otherwise, but we only want our salaries, severance payments. The Prime Minister does not have to come in, just send some money. We ended our hunger strike and we will not return to the hunger strike and we will not leave the M-17, they can only take us away, "Halilovic said.

Steel workers also brought blankets with the intention of spending the night on the main road M-17 until their demands are resolved.
