Extreme heat / For most of BiH, a red meteoalarm is issued

Today in Bosnia and Herzegovina, predominantly sunny weather is expected, and the red meteoalarm is issued for the northern and southern parts of BiH.

These are the cities of Trebinje (up to 39 degrees), Mostar (41 degrees), Visegrad (38 degrees), Banja Luka (38 degrees), Prijedor (about 38 degrees) and Tuzla (up to 40 degrees).

For the interior of the country (Foča, Sarajevo, Livno), orange meteoalarm is still valid, issued on July 30th, and extended until August 8th.

Today, weak wind is expected in BiH, in southwestern Herzegovina, and in the rest of the country, the north and the northeast. Morning temperatures from 18 to 24, in the south from 25 to 28, and daily from 34 to 39, in Herzegovina and Posavina to 42 degrees.

In Sarajevo, sunny and hot. Morning temperature around 18, and daily around 35 degrees.

On Friday it will also be sunny and hot. In the evening, some thunderstorms are possible in the west and northwest of Bosnia. Morning temperatures from 19 to 24, in the south from 24 to 28, and daily from 36 to 42 degrees.

If you plan on the road, due to high daytime temperatures, it is recommended to travel on longer journeys in the early morning or late afternoon hours, and if it travels during the day to make more frequent breaks.

As a protection against summer heat, doctors recommend avoiding staying in the sun, avoiding abundant and fatty meals, and taking as much fruits, vegetables and fresh foods as water.
The heat wave, the most intense in the past 10 to 20 years, has arrived in BiH, and therefore the meteoalarms have been declared as well.
