Dodik after meeting with Čović: "We will support HDZ's proposal regarding Election Law"

The point of today's meeting of SNSD and HDZ BiH delegation was to "make a contribution to the situation in BiH," SNSD President Milorad Dodik told reporters at Jahorina.

"We have assembled ourselves as a party to contribute to the situation in BiH. The situation is in a significant crisis, there is no assembly or any other majority that could be effective. What was of course the topic of the conversation is the Electoral Law," he said he.

He added that the SNSD would support the HDZ proposal regarding Election Law.

"We have said that we will support the proposal that the HDZ has earlier made, because it ensures the process of constituent peoples electing their political representatives." The Serbian people are interested in establishing this practice in the Federation. "The SNSD supported it at the House of Peoples and we expect the debate enable the House of Representatives to pass this law, "Dodik said.

Speaking about today's events at the session of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, SNSD president Milorad Dodik said that the Republika Srpska will not give its approval to the Declaration on the construction of the Sarajevo-Belgrade highway today.

"The adopted highway route is contrary to Republika Srpska's interests. This is the decision of the political Sarajevo and we do not give our consent to the adopted Declaration, "Dodik said.

He added that he would remain committed to the issue of the Constitutional Court of BiH. "We remain committed to the Constitutional Court's case, a practice that has contributed to further destabilization in BiH. The way of decision making is unacceptable, eliminating foreigners from the Court and their role," Dodik said.

Speaking at the meeting, the current cooperation between SNSD and HDZ BiH was analyzed and it was concluded that the two parties' cooperation was very successful, SNSD President Milorad Dodik said he respected the views of HDZ BiH, which, as expressed , "Promotes NATO values".

"As far as the NATO Membership Action Plan (MAP) is concerned, I have nothing to add after Mr Dodik's statement today," said HDZ BiH President Dragan Covic.

The word at the news conference in Jahorina was again taken over by Milorad Dodik, saying that the SNSD "has no problem what the HDZ BiH is promoting NATO".

"We have no problem HDZ promotes NATO, but we are looking at Serbia and striving for military neutrality. NATO is not our target and we will not give any consent to it at the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina, "Dodik repeated

Stressing that "the positions between SNSD and HDZ BiH are fully harmonized," Čović said that the two parties are committed to the European Union and want candidate status.

"We agreed to cooperate, to avoid any possible crises. (...) Where we do not have a common attitude, we will behave as partners and respect our attitudes, "said HDZ BiH President Dragan Covic.
