MALAYSIA: There is no 'convincing evidence' that Russia is behind the demolition of Malaysian Airlines MH17 aircraft.

The international investigation team has failed to present convincing evidence that Russia is responsible for the fall of Malaysia Airlines's MH17 aircraft, according to a Malaysian Minister's statement

Transport Minister Anthony Loke told Channel NewsAsia: "There is no convincing evidence pointing to Russia according to the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) evidence." Moscow also rejected the JIT accusation, saying it was an attempt to "discredit Russia in the eyes of the international community ".
Last week, the Dutch commission found that the rocket that hit the MH17 passenger plane in 2014 and led to the fall of the aircraft, in fact, is a BUK rocket system belonging to a Russian military unit stationed in western Russia. The provisional assessment of JIM resulted in a reiterated almost one-year allegations by the Bellingcat activist group. Despite Moscow insisting that no Russian rocket system had ever crossed into Ukraine, the Netherlands and Australia quickly declared Russia "responsible" for the deployment of the BUK missile system.

While guilt continues to build momentum, a series of Dutch parties, including the Freedom Party (PVV), the Netherlands Socialist Party, the Forum for Democracy and the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA), have asked questions about why Ukraine was not responsible for what happened on its territory. Dutch Foreign Minister Stef Blok said on Thursday that he can not "rule out anything" speaking about the potential responsibility of Kiev to demolish the aircraft, but stressed that there was no "strong legal basis" for it.

The Russian authorities repeatedly emphasized the fact that Ukraine failed to close the airspace, while the West continues to blame Moscow. Moreover, Moscow has provided investigators with original and unmanned radar data that "have not shown any air objects that are approaching Boeing on the west side," the Russian military said. The latest set of charges has also come in practice "in light of the upcoming important international events," Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said, apparently referring to the 2018 World Cup starting in Russia in just two weeks.
