Nestle withdraws from the market of cereal flakes

The Croatian Ministry of Agriculture reported that Nestle Adriatic through the Rapid Alert System informed the Nestle Nestum Expert tooth and dried plums from precaution, after an increased quantity of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in the European Union was found in a similar product .

The Croatian Food Agency announced on Monday that it has increased the number of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons on the European Union market in a similar product (Nestle Cerelac Buiscuits L70080291, which is not on the Croatian market).

Therefore, this product does not comply with the Commission Regulation determining the maximum permitted quantities of certain contaminants in food.

Since the same raw material was used in the production of the aforementioned product Nestle Adriatica, this company started the process of withdrawing and recalling products in order to ensure food safety and quality standards, the statement said.
