"For three years in a cannery box": Charlie Ebdo released the first number in 2018 and marked the three-year anniversary of the terrorist attack

Three years after the attack on Charlie Hebdo, Laurent "Riss" Sourisseau, the editor-in-chief of the French satirical weekly says freedom of speech has become "luxury goods" and complains about the cost of securing the building where the headquarters are located.

Charlie Hebdo was the target of a bloody jihadi attack on January 7, 2015, when two armed men killed 11 journalists at a Parisian satirical weekly headquarters.

Among the victims were his colleagues Cabu, Wolinsky, Tignous, Honore and Chief of Staff Charb, and Riss was wounded in the attack. "Three years in a box of cans," says the cover of the number that is on sale since today

"At least 15,000 copies should be sold each week, which is nearly 800,000 copies a year, just to cover the security of Charlie Hebdo's headquarters," writes Riss in an editorial column titled "How Much Freedom of Speech is?"

"Is it normal that more than 50 percent of the salary goes out to fund the insurance of the seat of a weekly newspaper coming out in a democratic country? Which other French media must invest so much money in order to allow them the fundamental freedom - freedom of speech," Riss says in the column.

"This vital freedom that is inseparable from our democracy has just become a luxurious product, like sports cars or jewels that are sold at Parisian stores," writes Riss.

The paper will publish an article on bloody murders that will be published under the title "What has changed in the past three years" by Fabrice Nicolin, and on Saturday the victims will be honored in Paris, and a round table will be held within the days called "Charlie" , concert and debates. On Sunday, a rally will be held at the Square of the Republic at the invitation of the Movement for Peace and Terrorism.
