Today in Banja Luka "The Marsh of the Immortal Regiment" during the celebration of the Victory Day of Fascism

The Day of Victory over Fascism will be marked today at the National Liberation Army Square in Banja Luka, organized by the Government Committee of the Republic of Srpska to foster the tradition of liberation wars and with the help of the City Committee of SUBNOR.

This historic event of republic significance will begin at 12.00 pm, and from the Ministry of Labor and Veterans' and Disability Protection invite all citizens and honors of the NOR to respond to this celebration as much as possible.

On the Square of the fallen fighters of the NOR, a cultural and artistic program will be organized and the officials will address, announced the ministry.

The celebration of this event will begin with the formation of the column "The Marsh Immortal Regiment" from 10.30 am to 11.00 am in the park "Petar Kočić".

The column will move from that park to the Square of fallen soldiers, and its participants will carry images of their ancestors, participants of the Second World War, flags of war units and banners with occasional messages to remind soldiers and civilians from the NOR who gave their lives in combat against fascism.

"Every citizen who has a picture of his ancestor, a participant of the People's Liberation War, can join the formed column and the" Marsh of the Immortal Regiment. "This is an opportunity to remember those who took part in the struggle against fascism and give them due honor," he said. President of the Committee for the Promotion of the Tradition of the Liberation Wars of the Government of Srpska Milenko Savanovic.

"The Immortal Regiment" is an international social action, which began in 2011 in the cities of Russia during the celebration of the Victory Day on May 9th.

The President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik, Prime Minister Zeljka Cvijanovic, Deputy Prime Minister Srebrenka Golic, Minister of Labor and Veterans-Disability Protection Milenko Savanovic and Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining Petar Djokic will take part in the event.

Banja Luka is one of 64 cities that in this way joined the celebration of this event.

In the RS, the Day of Victory over Fascism will be marked by a series of events celebrating the victory over fascism and honoring the victims of the Second World War.
