Željko Bebek visited Selmu: Our meetings are always full of emotions
At the end of the forties of the last century, Selma went to the Railway Station, and Government Dijak was wearing a suitcase.
"Since her personal, I love this suitcase," there are lyrics, then the cult song Selma, whose protagonist is 89 years old, lives in Zagreb and is often visited by a singer who sings for more than 40 years - Željko bebek.
- I met the government in Butmir in 1945 on an aeromiting and was constantly looking at me. He immediately became interested in me. After that, we met at the corridor in Sarajevo. On weekends I often traveled to Zenica and once Vlado met me at the Railway Station and carried my suitcase. He helped me to get in the train where the window was slim and then told me: "Selma, do not lean out of the window," Selma Borić told the song at the time.
She heard the song only in 1975 when she came to Bregović after the concert and said, "I am that Selma!"
The 1949 author Dijak's work, which thanks to Goran Bregović became one of the greatest Yugoslav hits, is still being sung today at concerts throughout the region, and every new meeting of the 89-year-old Selme and singer Željko Bebeka provokes special emotions.
With her husband Ružica, she loves to go to Selme in her home in Zagreb.
-Surtains with her are always full of emotions. She is today a beautiful grandmother for whom I have the same song for more than 40 years. I called her at the concert for Women's Day in Cibona, but her health did not work - says a musician whose Selma was in the first place at a concert in Lisince three years ago.
