Dacic: Serbia supports the integrity of Spain

Serbia supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Spain and its unity, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said on the occasion of a referendum on the independence of the autonomous Spanish region of Catalonia.

"Our position is clear and principled, Spain is one of Serbia's greatest friends," said Dacic, adding that Madrid has the same attitude on the issue of territorial integrity of Serbia. The Minister called on "all political factors not to play this issue" and stated that he did not understand why some politicians from Serbia went to Barcelona, but did not go to Banja Luka. He said that Serbia's position on the Catalan referendum is on the line of attitudes of European institutions.

Dacic added that all unilateral moves that are not in accordance with the constitutional-legal system of a country and which are not agreed with the central authorities are a violation of international law. "This can hit every country in the world. If there is no international law, there is nothing to protect you, apart from the love and affection of great powers, which is a very variable category," Dacic said.

"Kosovo has no chance of joining UNESCO"

Dacic also said that Kosovo has not yet applied for UNESCO membership, but is convinced that it will lose whenever it applies, with the assessment that "all forces and money can not be solved". "Kosovo in UNESCO is deadline, they have not applied for now, we are waiting for them. Whenever they have to register, they must know that they will lose," Dacic told reporters in Belgrade. "It can not be solved by force and money, I am sure that there is no chance in the vote to win," said the head of Serbian diplomacy.

On the occasion of an analysis recently presented by French President Emmanuel Macron and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, which states that the European Union should open the door to new members from the Western Balkans by 2025, Dacic said that it is better for European leaders they talk about their relationships. "The question is whether the EU will survive by 2025. If it survives, then we are," Dačić said, adding that he "over the head" is listening to the Balkan countries as "the tribal tribes that somebody should receive in the EU.

EU entry is a political issue, Dacic said and asked whether anyone believes that Turkey deserved to be a NATO member and did not deserve EU membership, adding that Turkey is "in the NATO" because "they need it." "I mean that we need them (EU). It is better that we are politically here, but that there are conflicts in the Balkans, "said the head of Serbian diplomacy.
