Federal Minister of Transport and Communications Denis Lasic said in an interview for Fena that in this year's planned completion subsection Drivuša-Bench and Bench-Donja Gracanica and announced the implementation of the program "Modernization of the roads in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina" and investments in aviation infrastructure in the Federation, to Airports in the FBiH were more competitive ports in the region and the region.

Speaking about the activities of the Ministry in the previous year, Lasic said that the past years have been the last in the preparation of projects because, he said, to a halt and the lack of intensive activity was due to the failure to adopt the Law on amendments to the Law on Excise BiH, not adopting spatial planning documents, unresolved property relations, complicated procedures for the award of contracts and the like.

In 2017 completed ten kilometers of modern highway Svilaj - Odzak, the northernmost part of Corridor Vc, and in this section is planned to build another bridge Svilaj and border crossing, said Lasic, noting that it continues to build on the earlier open construction sites subsection Drivuša - Klopče, Klopče - Donja Gracanica, with the completion of the subsection Drivuša - Klopče expected in the first half of this year.

According to the minister, in 2018 it is planned to complete the subsection Drivuša - Klopče (2.3 km) and Klopče - Donja Gracanica (5.7 km).

In addition, it is planned to start construction on subsections: Pocitelj - Zvirovići (11 km), as well as the construction of a highway tunnel Vratsa - tunnel Pečuj loop Zenica north (4 km), then Pocitelj - Buna (7 km), Ponirak - Vraca (2 7 km), once served - Ponirak (5.3 km), Nemila - Vranduk (5.7 km), Tunnel Kvanj - Buna (5 km) and Tarčin - John (approximately 7 km).

He added that the program includes a number of projects that can be divided into two groups, and it projects detours and construction of road sections of strategic importance for the FBiH / BiH and building projects bypass cities and projects of reconstruction of existing roads and road construction (correction shaft construction third slow lane, rehabilitation / reconstruction of bridges and tunnels, rehabilitation / reconstruction of black spots and dangerous places, etc.).

Speaking about the work of airports, Lasic Minister recalled that in the Federation of BiH in the operational work of three international airport - Sarajevo International Airport, International Airport Tuzla and Mostar Airport. In his opinion, all three airports are operational and functional sense, unable to carry out adequate handling aircraft and passengers and possess licenses international airports.

- Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications has for several years actively involved in the development of aviation infrastructure in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina through subsidies and capital investment, said Lasic, adding that from the Budget of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2017, by means of passenger tax-fee development and improvement of air transport in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, should be realized a total of 13 million marks.

According to him, the transfer international airports aim to increase their competitiveness and convergence of air transport customers from the region.

Airports in the FBiH the years have increased the number of passengers as well as the growth of cargo traffic, which shows that these investments have economic justification, says Lasic and points out that the airport in the Federation have become an important factor for regional growth and development of both the economy and tourism, and other branches of businessman in FBiH.

Although the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is not the owner of the mentioned airports, decisions are taken with the aim of improving air traffic in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as to increase their competitiveness in relation to other airports in the region.

- One of the goals of the Ministry is investing in aviation infrastructure in the Federation in order to provide a quality level of service and to the airport in the Federation meet the high international standards of ICAO and Eurocontrol and the more competitive airports in the region and the region - said Lasic .

As for the railway transport, the introduction of lines for Capljina "Talgo" sets in June 2017, and the release of a line from Sarajevo to Banja Luka in August of that year, there was a significant increase in the transport of passengers in the previous period was in a drastic drop said Lasic.

He added that the Ministry does not yet have information on the exact number of passengers carried, because these lines are released in the second half of 2017.

For freight transport, the railroad companies in recent years are the largest carriers of goods in the Federation and posture determined constant with a slight increase in freight transport.

- We believe that in the future this kind of transport more increase for the reasons set out EU policy, where the freight over long distances almost completely switch to marine and rail transport - emphasized Minister and notes that energy-efficient vehicles and cleaner fuels are unlikely be sufficient to achieve the necessary reduction in exhaust gases, which will include greater use of rail transport.

When it comes to shipping, Lasic says that Bosnia and Herzegovina, ie the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina access to the Adriatic Sea with a length of 25.80 kilometers of coastline on the sea area Klek-Neum, and since there is no built maritime infrastructure (port, harbor, marina) shipping is taking place sporadically for tourism purposes.

As for river transport, the current situation is such that on the Sava River Waterway carries little traffic in relation to the expected traffic of goods.
