Our tycoons ask ... Who is crazy to work for 2,000 EUR, when it can be for 300 EUR?
Balkan countries remain massively free from youth but also labor force for domestic employers and we chose one example from RS
For a long time, employers have warned of the dramatic outflow of the labor force from the labor market of Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia and the growing problem with the lack of skilled labor. These problems have already begun to emerge in companies in the electro and metal industry, which, due to the lack of appropriate personnel, are losing millions of deals from abroad. Among them is the "netvork network" that could not respond positively to the offer of the largest German telecom operator.
- We were suppliers of "Dojče telekoma". They came to film the capacity and labor force to produce optical cables for the German telecommunications giant, which will complete the modernization of their system. About 2,000 workers are needed for this job and we have only 300 of them. We could not fulfill their requirements and we were forced to thank them for their interest and to give up on further negotiations - said Zoran Tošić, deputy director of netvork network.
"Dojče Telekom" seeks for reliable suppliers, and "Netvork Network" has come up on their list because it is already working successfully with partners of a German company. A good voice, however, was stuck on a shortage of workforce for which a potential good job was condemned to ruin. In "Netvork Network" they point out that in all ways they try to choose with a shortage of workforce, and now they have decided to go a step further.
- In order to put an end to the workforce from our company, we intend to build a 40-apartment building for our best workers. The price of these apartments will be two times smaller than the market. The requirement for workers who want to buy apartments will be contractually stipulated that they will remain in the company for the next ten years and that we can count on them in that period, "said Tošić, adding that he also missed about thirty workers for the jobs he currently contracted, but I can not find any one.
Tošić points out that employers need to get caught up with workers' outbreaks and that it is necessary to increase salaries to try to keep them, but that all those in the labor market are also in need of support.
- In the RS we've been watching what's going on for 15 years. The real sector is neglected and it has to get everyone's attention. It is also necessary to align education with the demands of the economy. We are planning to open an operating center in high school to teach CNC operators and re-qualify workers, "said Tošić.
The RS Chamber of Commerce emphasizes that employers from the metal sector are struggling with the same pain and refusing jobs because they do not have enough workers.
- We have found companies in the metal industry in Derventa, Prijedor and Laktaši. At each meeting with the leaders of the company we came to the conclusion that the metal industry has a chance for good export jobs, but that some have to refuse because they do not have high quality workforce. Previously there was a lack of CNC operators and welders, and now we have problems with all the metal industry interests. Domestic firms turned to workers' training, but when they dressed they go for bigger wages in Slovenia and Germany. There is a need to look for a way to solve this problem, because I'm afraid it will be deeper, "said the director of branch associations at the Privredna komora RS Pero Ćorić.
Economists point out that guilty to a problem with a shortage of labor is borne by both employers and government.
- From the end of the war to the last year-two supply of labor was greater than demand. In this situation employers dictated the fees they paid. Some of them during that period could not pay larger salaries, while some were, but did not want to pay for it. The workers were looking for a way out of low wages and found it abroad. The guilty for the new situation is also power, because it did not approach systematic problem solving and economic dismantling. Simply no one was thinking about it in a timely manner and that is why this situation also stumbled upon us - said a member of the RS Association of Economists - SWOT Predrag Duduković.
Uneven development of RS
Zoran Tošić also warned of the uneven development of Srpska, pointing out that the businessmen insisted that the RS Government should pay more attention to companies in the eastern part of the RS.
- Subsidies and incentives for growth and development of enterprises in this part of RS should be provided. You need to find some interest, not just talk in principle. In the eastern part of RS we do not have a good prospect, "said Tošić.
