Version of Uber arrived in BiH: How will taxi drivers react?

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, one of the applications for passenger transport, which functions on the principle of popular Ubera, started to operate. This is a mobile application gogo.ba, which connects drivers with passengers.

With these companies, unlike taxi cabs, passengers order a vehicle through a mobile application by entering their location and destination. This mode of transport has many advantages over standard taxi vehicles. Among other things, immediately after your driving order, you see where your vehicle is currently located and how long it takes you to arrive.

In addition, you can immediately see which vehicle and driver are the words. Payments are made through the application, so you can not happen to pay more than you should. The company that launched the gogo.ba application was registered in the USA. They bought a domain at the end of September and built a web site in BiH, and they have already launched Google advertising and are currently inviting drivers to contact them and citizens to remove their application.

It is interesting that, in addition to their own, they also bought Uber's domain in BiH and redirected it to their site. This means that if you go to the domain uber.ba, google will transfer you to the gogo.ba page. Recall that Uber is the largest American and global company operating under this principle, but that in the meantime there are many other applications that work on this model. Uber and its variants around the world, even in our region, have led to mass protests by taxi drivers who have experienced them as a threat to their business. The Serbian version, Car: Go, has recently appeared in Belgrade, which has spread to Croatia and Montenegro.

Gogo.ba, on the other hand, announced on its website that they are not actually a threat to taxi drivers.

- Different from popular services (Uber type), Gogo does not put taxis as a competition, but a partner, according to their site. But their motto on the google ad, which reads "Forget Taxi, Take Gogo," probably the taxi drivers will not like. It remains to be seen how the bh. taxi drivers react to the appearance of this application and whether they accept the explanation that they have no reason for concern.
